Bring Your BestAnnual Gala
Is the title of the wonderful work of art that artist Cassia Oddo painted during the evening. Cassia was inspired by the energy of the crowd, the music and the stories by Gwen and The Caring Place counsellors.

‘It’s like a family…”
We heard attendees say it over and over again and we do feel like a family. In the spirit of keeping it all in the family we were so pleased to have Matt Rapley perform with his family; his cousin (singing) and his brother (on drums) performing cherished classics and original songs (like the one written and performed for Matt’s brother’s wedding – it was sensational). We were also so lucky to have Jack Semple and his son Keiran perform classic and original songs that touched all of us with a tear or boisterous hand clapping. Special Thanks to our Emcee for the night – Sherry Lee one of our Board of Directors and also the editor and operations manager of Refined Lifestyles Magazine. Our ‘family’ at The Caring Place is comprised of many individuals – our counsellors, volunteers and administrative staff.
Attendees were given the opportunity to spend some time ‘Between The Palms” when we had a segment with three of our staff counsellors; Kevin Eby, Kim Wolbaum and Graham Tyson taking questions from the audience. They gave some advice on how to take that first step to seeking help – the answer ‘try work up the courage, make the call and know that we are here to help’. Graham and Gwen shared stories of success of how counselling and the Artistic Expression Group truly changes lives.
A special Thank You was given to Amanda Snell, Executive Assistant for her dedication and commitment to excellent work – Amanda is so very special to us all! We also had some incredible volunteers to say Thank You to – Joyce Lee has been volunteering with us for almost 5 years doing intakes with clients and helping with the Anxiety & Depression Peer Support Group, Liz Conner for all of her work with the CONNECT Street Fair in 2017 and her help in the office and finally Deane Brumwell (Nick was there to accept on his behalf) who has helped The Caring Place through his commitments with the CONNECT Street Fair and other projects. Thank You so very much.

We Need Your HelpPlease Donate!
The Caring Place takes clients regardless of ability to pay.
As a result, many people who otherwise could not afford professional counselling find help at The Caring Place. Our Client Support Fund is currently running very low. So we need your help to help other people less fortunate!
